By a MetNews Staff Writer

Monday will be Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Kenneth R. Freeman’s last day on the bench and he will officially retire, after using earned vacation days, on April 13.

Another judge of that court, Stephanie M. Bowick, departed her post on Feb. 21 and will officially retire on April 7.

Gov. George Deukmejian appointed Freeman, then 49, to the Los Angeles Municipal Court 1990. He was a Los Angeles County deputy district attorney at the time.

Freeman, now 84, was elevated to the Superior Court by Gov. Pete Wilson on May 16, 1994.

His law degree is from the University of West Los Angeles.

Bowick, 62, was appointed to the Superior Court by Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger in 2009. She was then assistant general counsel for the Los Angeles Unified School District.

Her law degree was earned at Howard University in the District of Columbia.
