Trump Criticizes Bass Over Support of Ex-Felon Illegal Alien

By a MetNews Staff Writer

President Donald Trump yesterday took to task Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass over a posting by her the previous day on “X,” formerly known as Twitter.

A press release issued by the White House says:

“President Donald J. Trump is removing illegal immigrant killers, rapists, and drug dealers from our streets and sending them back where they belong—but if politicians in so-called ‘sanctuary’ locales had it their way, these vicious criminals would still be free to roam our streets.”

The release provides “a tiny sample of the illegal immigrant criminals arrested in ‘sanctuary’ destinations under President Trump,” one example being:

In Los Angeles, California, immigration authorities arrested a Mexican national convicted of rape (who had an order of removal from 1996).

“Mayor Karen Bass says ‘no one should live in fear due to their immigration status.’ ”

The full comment on X contained this additional sentence:

“Los Angeles is a City of immigrants and we will continue to stand together.”

Bass did not post a response to the White House press release.

A spate of comments posted on Bass’s X page are negative, several urging Bass to resign. They include this:

A criminal complaint was filed in the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California on Feb. 10 alleging that Parra is an illegal alien found in the United States following deportation. It recites his separate convictions in Los Angeles Superior Court for unlawful sexual intercourse with a minor, corporal injury to a child’s parent, sale/transportation of marijuana, and being a felon in possession of a firearm.

The complaint cites orders of an immigration judge on Jan. 17, 1995, and Dec. 30, deporting him to Mexico, and notes the lack of any record of authorization to reenter.
