There’s no doubt that Deputy Public Defender Kimberly Repecka has unseated Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Emily Spear, with the vote standing, as of yesterday afternoon, at 613,361 for the challenger and 578,792 for the incumbent.
It was announced late Wednesday by the Registrar-Recorder’s Office that an estimated 12,000 ballots had yet to be counted. Given that Repecka had 34,569 votes in her favor after yesterday’s count, posted at 4:03 p.m., she is the clear winner, with 51.45 percent.
