Lavin Retires From C.A.

Court of Appeal Justice Luis A. Lavin of this district’s Div. Three retired from the bench yesterday.
He was appointed to the position in 2015 by then-Gov. Jerry Brown. Prior to that, he was a member of the Los Angeles Superior Court for 13 years.
Lavin was general counsel for the Los Angeles City Ethics Commission from 1995-99 and was an assistant U.S. attorney from 1999-2001.
His law degree is from Harvard.
