Karine Mkrtchyan Chosen As Superior Court Commissioner

Karine Mkrtchyan has been chosen by Los Angeles Superior Court judges as a court commissioner.
Judges Ruth Ann Kwan, Patti Jo McKay, and Brenda Penn on Thursday certified the results of the balloting.
The election of Mkrtchyan was no surprise. She was at the top of the list prepared by the Commissioner Selection Committee.
Two persons remain on the list and are seemingly destined to be hired as openings occur. They are Chief Deputy Los Angeles County Counsel Lawrence L. Hafetz. Third on the list is Los Angeles County Bar Association Immediate Past President Ann Park, who is of counsel at Foley & Mansfield PLLP.
Mkrtchyan replaces Evan Kitahara who was appointed in July as a judge of the court. She is a partner at Fraser Watson & Croutch where she was an associate from 2011-2018. She has specialized in handling medical malpractice, medical battery, sexual battery, and personal injury cases.
Her law degree is from Southwestern.
