Judges Mori, Kim Vetted for C.A. Appointment

Los Angeles Superior Court Judges
Los Angeles Superior Court Judges Audra Mori and Michelle Kim are in contention for appointment to the Court of Appeal for this district, the METNEWS has learned.
Then-Gov. Jerry Brown on Feb. 27, 2018, announced his appointment of Mori to the Superior Court. The graduate of the law school at Cornell was then managing partner of the Los Angeles office of Perkins Coie LLP.
Brown appopinted Kim, who was then a deputy public defender, on June 1, 2018. Her law degree is from UCLA.
Others whose names were sent out for comment earlier by the State Bar Commission on Judicial Nominees Evaluation for possible appointment to this district’s Court of Appeal are Los Angeles Superior Court Judges Kevin C. Brazile (the court’s presiding judge in 2019 and 2000) and Victor Viramontes, Fourth District Court of Appeal Justice Frank J. Menetrez, and attorney Rex Heinke.
