Cantil-Sakauye Contracts COVID-19, Is Isolated
By a MetNews Staff Writer
California Supreme Court Clerk Jorge Navarrete announced yesterday that Chief Justice Tani G. Cantil-Sakauye has tested positive for COVID-19 and will be working in isolation, in accordance with state and local health guidelines.
He said that Cantil-Sakauye contracted the disease despite having been fully vaccinated and having received two booster shots. She is exhibiting “mild symptoms,” the clerk related.
The chief justice will not participate in oral argument today, Navarrete noted. Saying that, if counsel stipulate to it, she will later review video recordings of argument.
