Judge Meredith Jury Retires From Bankruptcy Court

Meredith A. Jury retired yesterday as a judge of the Bankruptcy Court for the Central District of California.

Since her appointment to the post in 1997 by the judges of the Ninth U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals, she has served two three-year terms on the circuit’s Bankruptcy Appellate Panel.

In 1976, she received her law degree from UCLA, was admitted to the State Bar of California, and was hired as the first female associate at Best Best and Krieger, in Riverside. Jury became the firm’s first female partner in 1982.

She will continue to provide pro bono mediation services to the bankruptcy bar.
