Brown Names Herin, Kelley, McGonigle to Los Angeles Superior Court

Gov. Jerry Brown yesterday announced the appointment of Scott R. Herin, Michael C. Kelley, and Teresa R. McGonigle to judgeships in the Los Angeles Superior Court.
Herin, 51, is a Los Angeles County deputy public defender, a position he has held since 1999. He is a graduate of the Detroit College of Law.
Kelley, 64, has been a partner at Sidley Austin since 1987. He obtained his J.D. from Yale.
McGonigle, 55, is currently a managing research attorney at the Los Angeles Superior Court, where she has worked in various capacities since 1989. She obtained her law degree from Notre Dame Law School.
In addition to the appointments to Los Angeles Superior Court, Brown also announced one appointment to each of the Alameda, Orange, and San Bernardino superior courts.
Three of yesterday’s appointees are Democrats and three, including McGonigle, have stated no party preference.
