By a MetNews Staff Writer
The San Fernando Valley Bar Association has announced that it is planning to distribute blankets and free legal advice to the homeless at the West Valley Food Pantry this Saturday.
Since 1995, more than 36,000 blankets have been provided to various homeless and battered women’s shelters in the San Fernando Valley as part of the SFVBA’s annual “Blanket the Homeless” project.
Volunteer attorneys are also set to provide legal consultations to clients of the food pantry and shelters in the area of unlawful detainers, government benefits and criminal law matters.
The food pantry is located in the Prince of Peach Episcopal Church, at 5700 Rudnick Avenue in Woodland Hills, and the event is slated to begin at 8:30 a.m.
