Sheppard Mullin Elevates L.A., Century City Attorneys to Partner

Sheppard, Mullin, Richter & Hampton LLP yesterday announced that it has elevated 11 attorneys to partner, including three from its downtown Los Angeles office and one from the Century City location.

Firm chairman Guy N. Halgren praised the new partners, including Geoffrey D. DeBoskey, Whitney Jones Roy, Kyle J. Mathews and Ronda D. Jamgotchian, as “outstanding attorneys” who have “distinguished themselves through their achievements, enthusiasm and dedication to clients.“

DeBoskey, a member of the firm’s labor and employment practice group in the Los Angeles office, focuses on class action defense litigation and defending employers against charges labor violations.

Prior to joining the firm, DeBoskey clerked for Ninth U.S. Circuit Court of Appeal Justice Kim McLane Wardlaw.

He graduated order of the coif from USC Law School in 2000. He graduated with honors from U.C. Davis in 1997.

Roy, a member of the business trial practice group based in the firm’s Los Angeles office, specializes in business litigation.

Her experience includes representing clients against claims of fraud, breach of fiduciary duty, breach of contract, unfair business practices, negligence, nuisance and trespass.  She has also developed a specialty in litigation relating to Proposition 65, CERCLA, and products liability.

She obtained her law degree from USC in 2000 after graduating cum laude from UCLA in 1997.

Mathews, a part of the firm’s finance and bankruptcy practice group in the Los Angeles office, specializes in workouts, restructuring and commercial lending, mainly representing financial institutions.

He earned both his law degree in 2001 and his undergraduate degree in 1998 from USC.

Jamgotchian is a member of the firm’s labor and employment practice group in the Century City office.

Her practice primarily focuses on defending employers from harassment, retaliation and discrimination claims, as well as claims for wage and hour violations, breach of contract, denial of medical leave, and wrongful termination.

She graduated mangna cum laude, order of the coif from U.C. Hastings in 1998 and earned her undergraduate degree from California State University, Fullerton in 1994.

The remaining new partners were Elizabeth S. Balfour, David E. Heisey and Beni Surpin of the San Diego office; Ori Katz of the San Francisco office, Daniel L. Brown and Seth (Byoung Soo) Kim of the New York office, and Deborah M. Shelton of the Washington, D.C. office.
