State Judicial Council Drops West In Favor of LegalNet as Publisher of Official Court Forms
By a MetNews Staff Writer
American LegalNet, Inc. will become the official publisher of California Judicial Council forms beginning Jan. 1, the Administrative Office of the Courts announced yesterday.
The firm will replace West as publisher of the forms and will replace Access Law as provider of interactive forms available through the court Web site, www.courtinfo.ca.gov, an AOC spokesperson said.
The Judicial Council’s more than 700 forms are used in all of California’s 58 trial courts and in the six Courts of Appeal.
“American LegalNet was selected as the Official Publisher because the company demonstrated the technological and management capabilities we need to produce forms for our complex court system and the public it serves,” Kenneth Kann, supervising attorney in the AOC’s Office of General Counsel, said in a statement. “The agreement between the state and American LegalNet comes at a time when the Judicial Council is greatly expanding its use of the Internet to make its forms available to the public.”Metropolitan News-Enterprise
