Consumer Protection Attorney Woodburn Moves to Quisenberry

Consumer protection lawyer Graig Woodburn has joined the Quisenberry Law Firm as head of the Class Action Protection Group, the firm announced Monday.

The 42-year-old Woodburn joined Quisenberry July 29. His duties include day-to-day supervision of class action and complex litigation cases, meeting with potential clients and helping to manage the firm.

He comes to the Westside-based firm with extensive experience in consumer class action lawsuits. His most visible victory came in the 1992 verdict against Charles Keating, Jr., in which a jury awarded more than $3 billion to thousands of defrauded investors Woodburn was representing as a member of the San Diego firm of Weiss Bershad Hynes & Lerach. He has also been involved with private civil anti-trust actions against Microsoft.

Since joining Quisenberry, Woodburn has already represented plaintiffs objecting to a class action settlement involving a Fortune 500 company.

Woodburn said he moved in part because he had worked with Quisenberry partner John N. Quisenberry before at another Los Angeles firm.

“I didn’t work directly with him, but we were there at the same time, so we were familiar with each other’s strengths,” said Woodburn. “When I was approached to work with him, it seemed like a great opportunity.”

Woodburn holds a bachelor’s degree from Hartwick College in New York and a J.D. from the Georgetown University Law Center.

Quisenberry specializes in consumer litigation law, including insurance bad faith, class actions, toxic torts and construction defect litigation.
