State Bar Metes Out Discipline on Local Attorneys

 

Recent State Bar discipline action on local attorneys includes:

David Elwyn Hosmer, Orange, reinstatement from 30-days actual suspension, Effective Nov. 3

Jeremias Flores Valdez, Glendale, reinstated from 30-day actual suspension effective Nov. 4, but remains on administrative inactive status for MCLE noncompliance.

Nancy Gardner Wanski, La Canada, reinstated from suspension for noncompliance with continuing legal education requirements, Effective Oct. 31

John David Butterfield, Torrance, California Supreme Court accepted voluntary resignation without prejudice, Effective Nov. 15.

Further Discipline for Failure to Comply with a Previous Order:

Patrick Joseph Delchop, Los Angeles, suspended pending proof of passage of Multi-state Professional Responsibility Examination for failure to pass the exam within time prescribed by state Supreme Court, and extended by the Review Department. Effective Nov. 11.

Steven L. Dobbs, Studio City, suspended pending proof of passage of Multi-state Professional Responsibility Examination for failure to pass the exam within time prescribed by state Supreme Court, and extended by the Review Department. Effective Nov. 11.

Keith Hubert Gill, Woodland Hills, suspended pending proof of passage of Multi-state Professional Responsibility Examination for failure to pass the exam within time prescribed by state Supreme Court. Effective Oct. 31.

Lucinda Kay Moreno, Rosemead, suspended pending proof of passage of Multi-state Professional Responsibility Examination for failure to pass the exam within time prescribed by state Supreme Court. Effective Nov. 11.

Ozoeme M. Onyejekwe, Los Angeles, motion to extend time to take and pass Multi-state Professional Responsibility Examination until release of November 2002 results granted and suspension imposed by order filed Oct. 9 for failing to pass the MPRE within time prescribed by state Supreme Court is terminated. Effective Nov.1.

Eric Tarankow, Los Angeles, motion to extend time to take and pass Multi-state Professional Responsibility Examination denied, suspended from the practice of law pending proof of passage of MPRE for failure to pass the exam within time prescribed by state Supreme Court, and later extended. Effective Nov. 25.

Resignation With Charges Pending:

The following people are ineligible to practice law in the state of California (effective on the dates indicated) having voluntarily resigned as members of the State Bar and their resignations having been accepted by the Supreme Court of California. They tendered their resignations while a disciplinary investigation or proceeding was pending. These disciplinary matters may be reopened if the attorney applies for reinstatement to the practice of law.

Robert Dickinson Silver, Ventura, Nov. 20

Involuntary Inactive Enrollment:

The following persons have been enrolled as inactive members of the State Bar of California and may not practice law or hold themselves out as entitled to practice law while so enrolled, effective on the dates indicated.

David R. Cadwell, Los Angeles, ordered inactive after State Bar Court recommended his disbarment Nov. 13, Effective Nov. 16.

Jeffery Brent Lugash, Van Nuys, ordered inactive after State Bar Court recommended his disbarment Nov. 15, Effective Nov. 18.

Hong Bin Yim, Montrose, ordered inactive after failing to respond to notice of disciplinary charges filed June 11, Effective Nov. 12.

Suspension:

The following people have been suspended from the practice of law by the California Supreme Court, effective on the dates indicated. All are ordered to comply with Rule 955 of the California Rules of Court, unless otherwise indicated.

Lloyd Martin Segal, Los Angeles, three-year actual suspension and until makes restitution and until shows proof of rehabilitation and fitness to practice. Five-years probation with conditions, Nov. 15.

Harold Vincent Sullivan II, Torrance, 18-month actual suspension stayed with 2-years’ probation on condition of 75 day actual suspension, Dec. 4.

Probation:

The following people have been disciplined by the State Bar, but may continue to practice law as long as they satisfy the conditions set by the court.

Gregory Bowen Byberg, Beverly Hills, 24-month stayed suspension, 24-month probation. Effective Dec. 4.

Bernard William Minsky, Los Angeles, one-year stayed suspension, 2-years’ probation and required to pass the MPRE within one year, Dec. 4.

Steven H. Marcus, Valencia, Dec. 4, 30-day stayed suspension, 1-year probation and required to pass the MPRE within one year, Dec. 4.
